Former Bush Administration official and Muslim-American Suhal Kahn speaks out against what he sees as the use of anti-Muslim sentiment for political advantage:
“People think they could make some short-term partisan gains by coming out against Muslims and Muslim Americans when it’s really in the long term, not good for our country and is really attacking all of us.”

If it’s going to cause such controversy as the imam says then why build the mosque so close to ground zero? If peace is their aim then why not voluntarily move it? Why must they put their mark on a site so close to ground zero?
